Who else used to read that story about ‘The sky is falling!’ I adored it, and the matchy matchy names of the characters. Henny Penny, Turkey Lurkey, Foxy Woxy…all of them.
What’s the point? Well there really isn’t one, I just thought of it while eating a turkey sandwich for lunch.
What story did you read over and over as a kid?
PS: It’s National Oatmeal Day! Have you had your oatmeal yet? I think it’s obvious what my answer is…savory oats for dinner, perhaps?

I used to love reading the Babysitter’s Club books over and over when I was little, haha
umm I think her name was Lauralene McDaniel? or something like that. So depressing! haha
I read TONS of books over and over – i was just talking about this last night, actually!
- all the Babysitter’s Club books and Babysitter’s Little Sisters
- Sweet Valley High
- Around the World in 80 days
- Mandy by Julie Andrews
We don’t have an oatmeal day!
Booo. So I didn’t even eat oatmeal today. Sucks.
Hmmmm toast. I’ve been craving toast. How weird is that?
I DID have my oatmeal
You mean Henny Penny, Chicken Little, Ducky Lucky, Goosey Loosey and Foxy Loxy? No never read that one LOL! I STILL have the cassette tape!!
I loved the book Super Pickle.
cinnamon raisin swirl oaties for breakfast

I’m dying to try some savory oats, but a little scared. I’m love having breakfast foods for dinner, but NOT dinner foods for breakfast. I’m nervous that if I eat savory oats, when I eat breakfast oatmeal it will remind me of dinner, thus forever tainting my oatmeal experience.
car bfast totally read like carb fast to me. play on words : what, whaaattt!
Ahhh BSC and Sweet Valley High, loved it!
Good call on the savory oats for dinner; I’ve gotten my oats fix for the day–but really, there’s no such thing as an oats “fix.” I’m down for the SO dinner, too
I loved Turkey Lurkey and Henny Penny…
My favorite book growing up was Katy the Snowplow – a few years ago my mom bought it for me…I read it every once in a while.
national oatmeal day?! ! who knew! good thing I had a nice oats in a jar this morning! it twasss delish!
book I read over and ovver again would have to be “if you give a mouse a cookie” and “goodnight moon”
I kind of remember that book, but it’s a bit fuzzy. Ones I do remember: The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, Chicken Little, the Little Red Caboose, The Little Engine that Could
Then when I got older Babysitter’s Club, Sweet Valley High, Nancy Drew, The Boxcar Children, Fear Street
Haha, memories!
Sometimes two words just says it all girl. Hope didn’t fall asleep at your desk
How about Mrs. Piggle WIggle. Did anyone else read these?
LOVED that book! When we read it in grade school, I remember rushing home and re-writing what I could remember of it down in my diary…LOL. Great memory!
Nuts! I totally found out about National Oatmeal day after breakfast. Oh well, I beleive in celebrating this holiday every day you can, so I will be honoring this worthy date tomorrow and the next day and possibly even the following day….
Didn’t have my oatmeal..Fail! But I student-teach first grade so I am surrounded my childhood faves
I love the good ol’ Hungry Hungry Caterpillar..
