Well today has not been an exceptionally great day. But we all have those, right?
Here are some of the good things though.
Great bowl of oatmeal.
- 1/2 cup oats
- 3/4 cup almond milk
- peanut butter
- pear butter
This was exceptional.
Eaten just before I hit a traffic jam on the way to work. Some unfortunate soul had an accident and this unfortunate soul was late for work. [That was not exceptional.]
To spice things up I had a groovy lunch.
Tortilla with veggie cream cheese, all rolled up.
Plus this AWESOME salad.
Mixed greens + bacon crumbles + incredible dressing [made by me!]
- 1/2 teaspoon blackberry jam
- splash of vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
- salt n’ pepa
Mix well and drizzle over salad. ‘Twas yummus in my tummus.
Days go by, and this one did.
I had drizzly doors for a snack.
- 2 wasa crackers
And I loved it.
After work, I was feeling dreary.
Mama D. and Pops treated me to a childhood favorite, and I was happy to go!
For years when I was growing up, every Friday night we ate at South 21 in Charlotte. It’s the cutest drive in, just like in the ‘50s!
Anyway, a few years ago they opened one in Matthews. It’s not technically a drive in, it’s a dine in, but it was still nostalgic.
In that I ordered the same thing I always have.
Trout dinner + Cherry Lemon SunDrop
But this time Cecily and I shared.
Where do you get your hair styles, kid?
Sometimes you just have to indulge to brighten the day. And dinner was exceptional.
