Hi guys!

Hope it is not raining wherever you are, unless you are in a drought. In that case, I will send you the rain that is currently pouring outside my window. Deal?

I did get up; though not quite with the chickens, more with the ducks, and get in my workout this morning. Level 3 of the shred and Morning Flow from Yoga Download. My bed was so comfy, but I knew that I had ton of stuff to do after work, (pack?? bake?? laundry??) and after proper caffeination I was much more agreeable to the idea. In fact I was enjoying myself by my final down dog.

After showering I pounded down some greens.

Green Monster

  • 4 cups spinach
  • blueberries
  • strawberries
  • frozen banana
  • milk
  • flax
  • chocolate protein powder
  • peanut butter

That’s the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it.

The rest of my morning was, well rainy. In more ways than one. But that’s ok.

I looked at this note:

and printed this:

Sunday devotionals

hung those where I could see them clearly,

read them a few times, and continued on with my day.

Nothing like a good verse to put you back on the right foot!

Not to mention greens. They certainly don’t hurt anything.

More mixing bowl salad.

This time I had:

  • baby spinach
  • curly lettuce
  • strawberries
  • blueberries
  • apricots

Topped with this:

Mmmmm I love.

Rainbow salad makes me happy. Happy, happy, happy.

So does this verse, for the second time this week:

Phillipians 4:13 (NLT)

For I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.

As I type a massive storm is brewing outside the window.

Very dark.

Very rumbly.

Anyway, this is what I ate for a snack today, while the sun was still shining.

1 organic pink lady apple + chocolate covered edamame = snack.

Do I really need two pictures? Probably not, but I could not decide between the two. They both show off the simple beauty of this delightful snack only to well. It could only be better if my camera had twice the megapixels. Oh wait. It did. And I lost it.

Small camera rant.

Back to business.

That’s exactly what I said.

After business hours were over and all the shops were closed, this little lady took her administrative assistant a butt home.

Where a beautiful package awaited. Only this administrative assistant did not know that yet.

But when I found it, all the tape in the world could not stop me from tearing it open.

Giveaway goodies from Megan at Runner’s Kitchen! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Megan!

Check out the goods.

  • soy crisps
  • mini pretzels
  • mints
  • chocolate bar
  • pb cups
  • dark chocolate and milk chocolate caramel cups
  • Newman-O’s
  • organic prunes

Megan definitely knew what to send a chocoholic like me. And I don’t even think she knows about my slight mint addiction.

Oh what a welcome sight this was.

Since I needed proper food before I could dig into this, I cooked up a quinoa dish.

  • quinoa
  • cheese
  • broccoli
  • red bowl + red spoon

It was nice and warm.

So I had some nice cold frozen blue berries on the side.

bowl + bowl = dinner

Then I wasted no time digging into the Newman goodies.

dark chocolate caramel cups.

Oh so, so good. And only 160 calories to boot. The perfect dessert.

Only I supplemented it.

apricots in my dwarf hand x2.

I just really like apricots, and had a sudden craving for them. So I gave in.

And now the the thunder is rolling and the clouds are darkening, and OH MY! the rain is pouring.

I’m gonna call it a night, and retire with my current read, The Shack.

I am loving it so far. I really appreciate the author’s portrayal of the Holy Trinity. It’s all starting to make a lot more sense to me now.

Have you read The Shack? Thoughts?

pick up lines

Well, wonders of all wonders. The rain has disappeared and Mr. Sun is peeking his head through the clouds!

This has brightened my day considerably!

As did my lunch of leftover quinoa.

Cheese please.

With a side of apple.

sliced and diced.

Well, just sliced.

Let’s get it together now.

Delicious and easy peasy. Not to mention cheesy. Speaking of cheesy, K was a dear and shared this priceless pick up line this morning:

Is that a mirror in your pocket? Because I can see myself in your pants.

Thanks K!

What is your favorite pick up line?

I can’t wait to hear everyone’s, and eat this muffin lover later.

More muffin looooove!

Stumble to the kitchen hit the streets a runnin’.

I will admit it. My run was not splendid this morning. I awoke to gray skies and wet pavement. It was not the most enjoyable 3.5 miles of my life.

So I made a very enjoyable breakfast.

Pour myself a cup of ambition…

ORANGE BOWL filled with:

  • Vanilla Oikos
  • Kashi Go Lean Crunch
  • bloobs
  • straws
  • raspys

I had a very enjoyable ten minutes of shoveling that in my mouth while simultaneously steering my car in the general direction of work.

Out on the streets
The traffic starts jumpin’…

I arrived safely, thanks for asking.

I did some work and stopped for lunch, so I could watch Giada make to-die-for salads.

Good thing I had some lettuce.

and strawberries, spinach, shrimp and craisins.

With cherries.

Cherries were on SALE this week! I am celebrating by eating a whole bag.

Seriously, who doesn’t love cherries?

or PB Puffins?

Who says you can’t have cereal for a snack? Not me.

I finished my work and departed.

Workin’ 9 8 to 5
What a way to make a livin’

I discovered it was one of those evenings where I just wanted to stay in and snack on cherries bake.

I made bloob muffins following Jenna’s recipe.

Holy bejeezus they were good!

Its enough to drive you
Crazy if you let it…

I ate them with:

Spaghetti of course! And broccoli + cantaloupe.

I had one.

and then another one.

Guys, you have to make these. Have to. Seriously. Oh, I am in trouble with these babies around. Which they won’t be for long.

There’s a better life…

Psalm 40:1 (The Message)

I waited and waited and waited for God. At last he looked; finally he listened. He lifted me out of the ditch, pulled me from deep mud. He stood me up on a solid rock to make sure I wouldn’t slip. Into to the deep blueberry muffin eating pit.

Ta-ta for now, as I am off to read blogs and do a little bed time yoga.

Enjoy your evening, my dear bloggie peeps!

Yay, no rain!

Oh yeaaahh. Looks like the rain has gone in time for Brad Paisley. I can put my boots on and go partay! (That’s how we do it down here, ya’ll.)

I tested out them ol’ oats again:

I dumped all this on top:

He was kind of embarrassed after I stirred him up and I barely caught this pic:

Don’t worry, I had no problems with his looks. He was YUM-TASTIC!

For Lunch-o I busted out those black beans again:

This time I added a chicken breast with some BBQ sauce and stirred all that in a pan.

Plopped it in a whole wheat wrap and dumped on a pile of lettuce with a dollop of 0% Fage and that ever delicious stuff from the gods: Texas Pete. Awesomeness!

I stir fried these suckers in some olive oil and had them on the side:

That lil’ plate o paper never knew what hit it. Gone in a flash!

Snackie snacktime

My boss was walking around with a bag of these:

So I grabbed a few to go along with this:

Way to satisy both those monsters, chocolate and (garlic?). Well it was good anyhoo.

Alright, I’m off to see the greatness that is Brad Paisley and party with the bestest. I better run cause me sista will keel me if  I make her late.

PS: No I did not exercise today. Everyone gets a break now and then!

PPS: In the spirit section, I am still reading Psalms. I have been getting some wonderful messages there. You should join in, it’s not too late!

See ya healthier!

It was raining this morning when I got up, so that shot my running plans all to that big firepit below. After much agonizing I did decide to go to the gym and at least get my required 20 minutes of cardio in. I actually ended up doing 45 minutes (25 minutes on the bike and 20 on the treadmill) and feeling much better about myself for doing something on this dreary, dreadful grey day.

So, what’s your rainy day go to work out plan?
