I made today Cookie Friday on Monday.
Well, maybe not an actual cookie, but it tasted just like the real thing.
I deserved it for the many reports I prepared, as well as the many reports I have to prepare tomorrow. Bleh.
Spaghetti was a cookin’ when I walked in the door.
Mama D. even made it veggie + whole wheat for me. I think I’ll keep that lady around.
I piled on the melons AGAIN.
Juicy melons, how I love thee.
A wondrous dinner only deserves a more wondrous dessert.
Banana softserve, peanut butter filled pretzels, coconut and SPRINKLES!
There may or may not have been more peanut butter filled pretzels devoured straight from the bag.
Klassy.
Philippians 4:17 (The Message)
…Not that I’m looking for handouts, but I do want you to experience the blessing that issues from generosity.
My church is doing a ‘What if Everyone’ program next month where we have a volunteer day, and we also fill up a grocery bag with items for the needy. I am so excited, because I LOVE volunteering. I have volunteered with the MS Society multiple times, as well as the American Cancer Society. It makes me feel so good to know that I am making a difference.
What do you do to make a difference in your community?
Your dessert = yum. How do you do the softserve?
Volunteering rocks. My job is pretty make-a-difference-y, a fact of which I am very grateful. It’s in a public school, but I see it as an opportunity to serve, minister, to love, regardless of whether I get to talk about Him or not. Prayer is pretty much awesome, too. And picking up trash. And your puppy’s poop when he goes.
Wow you are fast about getting this up!!! I want some more banana soft serve!
My mom and I clean homes and keep them company. I just love the elderly population!
I love volunteering too – I lead a breastfeeding support group for pregnant and nursing mama’s, and I also lead a cesarean support group for mom’s recovering from and hoping to avoid cesarean sections. There’s a support group for everyone! (Just like there’s an internet community for everyone!)
i always say that larabars are like my candy bars. except they taste better!
i always think it’s wonderful when any type of organization – whether it be religious, cultural, educational, business – inspires its members to give back. what your church is doing sounds beautiful!
I love to volunteer for Operation Frontline–which is teaching cooking classes to low income families, children, adults, teens, etc. It is so much fun to interact with everyone and meet such awesome people. Also, we teach them healthy habits–which is very important!
Desserts looks yum.
Your dessert looks DELISH! Foodgasm!

I must try those peanut butter filled pretzels… Soon!!
I love helping out in my community. It gives me a feeling of acceptance and accomplishment. I was in charge of a daycare class at my aunt’s church and I currently walk dogs at the kennel.
Do you live in the Charlotte area? I just moved here, any tips are appreciated 🙂

Ok, that stone with the big smile next to the Larabar is just about the cutest thing I’ve seen in a long time. You can’t help but smile when you look at it!
I made a fake soft serve banana ice cream the other day….1 frozen banana, some slightly frozen cottage cheese, and 2 Splenda packets all blended together. I call it “Joanna Banana Ice Cream”…it wasn’t as pretty as yours, but it worked! ; )
